Lubov Balagova is an award-winning Russian Circassian poet, author, filmmaker and producer. Born in Russia, she currently resides in the UK with her husband and two sons.
Lubov’s thirty-year career in the creative and literary world has covered cultural initiatives throughout Europe, Russia, the US and the Middle East. With degrees in journalism, literature and ethno-cultural sciences, she has written and published eleven poetry books as well as several award-winning screenplays, and is best known for her novel in verse The Empress. She is also a director of London-based production company Sindika Productions, and has produced award-winning movies and documentaries including Cherkess, Mountain Prisoner and A Facebook Romance.
In addition to her work with SIFA, Lubov has supported other film and music festivals around
world, and was invited to join the jury for the Angel Film Awards at the 2012 Monaco International Film Festival, as well as London’s international music competition Stars of Albion in 2014.
